The "inbound call report" is designed to give you information pertaining to inbound calls, such as the caller, the time the call was placed, the time it was answered, the duration of the call, and the device that answered the call.


Search Parameters




Display On Results Page :

  • Disconnect Time - time the call ended
  • Call Leg Answer Time - time it took to answer each leg, or portion of a call.
  • Display Name - VoIP Detective PRO users have the option to show the end user associated with that extension. 
  • Final Mobile Called Party Number - the remote phone number that the call was sent to.
  • UserID Called- this will show the User ID of the person who ultimately answered the call. Useful for determining who answered a call to a hunt group, or if the extension was forwarded. 



Search Modifications :

  • Advanced Voicemail Detection - Adds several extra queries per call in an effort to determine if the call was answered or went to voicemail.  Useful for complicated call-flows where calls initially go to voicemail (i.e. a call handler), then progress on to other devices, and finally return to voicemail.  Not needed for most scenarios.
  • Exclude Busy Calls - do not show calls that are rejected because the target is busy (code 17).
  • Exclude Transferred Calls - do not show calls that were transferred. In some call-flows, transferred calls can look like a doubling of call volumes. 
  • Include Internal Calls - include calls from one extension to another.  
  • Only Unanswered Or Went To Voicemail - only show calls that were not answered.
  • Zero Second Calls - these are calls that are 0 seconds. In most situations, these are calls that never connected, i.e. you simply take the phone offhook, then hang up again. These would also include misdials and errors. 




Search Results

You can see in the output below, we have performed a search to the number 42150.  In this example, 42150 is a hunt group, meaning a single number that is answered by a group of people.  You can see the date of the call, as well as the duration, time to answer, and final destination.  The screenshot has it blanked out, however you should also be able to see the username associated with the device that answered the phone.




  • Calling Number - The phone number that originated the call.  
  • Time Of Call - The date that the call started
  • Connect Time - Time when the call was answered or went to voicemail.
  • Duration - the time in seconds that the call lasted
  • Time to Answer - the amount of time between when the caller dialed the number and the call was answered.  
  • Final Destination - the extension that handled the call.  If this was answered by a person, you will see their extension, if it was forwarded, you will see the forwarding extension, or if it went to voicemail, you will see voicemail.
  • Answered By - the userid associated with the device that answered the call.  If you have users associated with your phones, you will see that person's userid here.  This is most useful for identifying which member of a hunt group answered a call.


Exporting the report

This report can be exported by scrolling to the bottom of the page, and choosing the format you would like from the bottom right.  

You can see in the below screenshot that the report has even more information when exported.



  • Calling Number - The phone number that originated the call.  
  • Time Of Call - the date that the call started
  • Connect Time - the time that the call connected (was answered)
  • Disconnect Time - time that the call ended
  • Time To Answer - amount of time between when the caller dialed the number and the call was answered. 
  • Duration (sec) - the time in seconds that the call lasted
  • Called number - the original number that the caller dialed, before being forwarded or redirected.
  • Final called party number - the extension that handled the call.  If this was answered by a person, you will see their extension, if it was forwarded, you will see the forwarding extension, or if it went to voicemail, you will see voicemail.
  • UserID associated with this device - the userid associated with the device that answered the call.  If you have users associated with your phones, you will see that person's userid here.  This is most useful for identifying which member of a hunt group answered a call.
  • Hunt pilot - if this call was received by a hunt group, the hunt group number will show here.  Note that this field is generally only populated if the call is answered.
  • Last redirecting number - the last number that redirected (forward, idivert, etc) the call.




*A note on translation patterns and inbound calls - it is quite possible that your phone system has what is called a "translation pattern", which means that what your end user dials (i.e. 7572225555) may be converted to an internal number (i.e. 25555).  What this means for us is that we will never see the number 7572225555 in our reports.  We will need to report on, and will only see 25555.
